The ghost behind the brief.
I have more than twenty-five years of experience in civil litigation and criminal motions practice across a wide variety of practice areas. That experience lets me give solo practitioners and small to mid-sized firms cost-effective, time-saving, and proficient research and writing: thoroughly researched memoranda, deposition summaries, signature-ready pleadings, and other legal instruments.
A double Emory graduate, I have made my home in Atlanta since 1992. Before I finished law school, I began working for Weinstock & Scavo, P.C., a full-service Atlanta firm with litigation and transactional practices in the state and federal courts of Georgia and throughout the country.
From 1999 through 2011, my practice ranged from Title IX federal claims to community association law, commercial contract disputes to personal injury and wrongful death claims, and domestic law to construction litigation, along with transactional work such as residential real estate closings and contract review. Throughout, I excelled at identifying and narrowing issues, conducting in-depth statutory and case law research, and preparing concise, compelling documents for clients and courts.
In 2011, I founded the Law Offices of Jami M. Kohn, now Ghost Legal, to bring that same high-quality work to solo practitioners and small and mid-sized firms throughout Georgia and across the country. You use the time you would have spent researching and writing to bring in business and handle everything else and you still make a profit without the overhead of another associate.
Off the clock
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, playing tennis, crocheting, and reading anything I can get my hands on. I am currently a Board Member and Treasurer for Kennrod, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing subsidized tutoring services and field trips to underserved communities in the metro-Atlanta area. I have served previously on the Board of Directors for The Standard Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, and on the boards of A Wish for Wendy Foundation (in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) and the Alfred & Adele Davis Academy in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
